Herb Lemonade

Herb Lemonade

Ingredients

  • 1 cup white sugar

  • 1 cup water

  • 9 medium lemons, or more as needed to taste, juiced (about 1.5 cups juice)

  • 4 -5 sprigs of fresh herbs of choice, such as thyme, basil, or sage

  • 1 cup fruit of choice, pitted (if necessary), and cut into small pieces

  • 7 cups cold sparkling or still water

Directions

  • In a small pot, bring the sugar and water to a boil to create a simple syrup. The syrup should be translucent. Let it cool.
  • Blend the cut fruit. Strain the fruit puree, If it has a lot of seeds or pulp.
  • Muddle the herbs with the lemon juice.
  • Combine the simple syrup, fruit puree, and herbed lemon juice in a pitcher.
  • Add the still or sparkling water to each serving or to the pitcher for a larger batch. Chill well to serve.
