Frosted Almond Torte
Ingredients
6 eggs, separated
1 cup of sugar
Grated zest and juice of 1 lemon or 1 small orange
1 1/3 cup almond flour
½ tsp almond extract
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Beat 6 egg yolks, Add sugar gradually and beat until very creamy.
- Add zest and juice, then almond flour, then almond extract.
- In a separate bowl, beat egg whites until stiff but not dry.
- Fold egg whites lightly into the batter.
- Pour batter into an ungreased 8 or 9 inch spring form pan.
- Bake for 30-40 minutes.
- Let cool in pan before removing.
